- Open a .docx file or click "Document" to start a blank one.
- Switch to Edit and use the toolbar: paragraph styles, fonts, colors, lists, alignment, tables, images and links.
- Press Ctrl+F to find and replace text; the status bar shows the word count.
- Download as .docx, save as PDF, or export plain text.

Frequently asked questions
Will editing keep my headers and footers?
Edit mode focuses on the document body. Headers, footers, footnotes and text boxes are shown in View mode but are not kept when you save an edited file. A document you only view is downloaded unchanged.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and processed by your own browser. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party, and the file is gone when you close the tab.
Can I create a new document?
Yes — click "Document" under "Create a blank file" on the home page.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free to use and there is no sign-up. The site is supported by ads shown on the information pages, never inside your document.
